(PatriotSpotlight.org) – Former U.S. President Donald Trump issued a scathing rebuke of erstwhile Homeland Security official Miles Taylor via his Truth Social platform.
The tirade comes as Trump, who remains the frontrunner for the GOP Presidential nomination, remains embroiled in a series of high-profile legal battles, with the opening arguments in his New York hush money criminal trial heard on Monday. Trump’s furious rant, shared on Sunday night, took aim at news networks such as MSNBC and CNN, claiming that they boosted ratings by platforming his critics. He slammed Taylor for allegedly exploiting his connection to Trump’s administration to garner media hits, referring to him as a “pathetic RINO,” and “ weak and pathetic”.
He said that Taylor has worked with “one of the dumber Generals around,” John Kelly, but exaggerated his knowledge of the Trump administration, Trump wrote to his followers. He also claimed that he barely remembered Taylor from the administration, accusing him of being a “con man” due to his regular media slots to discuss Trump, generally in a negative light.
Taylor served as Chief of Staff at the Department of Homeland Security under Trump, gaining prominence in 2018 after authoring a New York Times op-ed titled, “I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration,” under the pseudonym “Anonymous.” The piece slammed Trump and suggested that many within his administration were covertly aimed toward thwarting some of his policies.
Trump’s criticism of Taylor is part of a wider pattern of lashing out at former associates who publicly slate him. In a Truth Social rant, he called out networks MSNBC and CNN for featuring such critics who he claimed, “ virtually no knowledge of me, or anything about me”. He referred to NBC as “one of the worst news organizations in the world” and suggested many other “phonies” would be airing their narratives on his administration going forward.
Aside from his New York hush money trial, Trump is currently facing a trio of other criminal indictments, including charges related to his handling of classified material and attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election. The Trump campaign has not immediately responded to Mediate’s requests for comment on the matter, while Taylor is yet to publicly react to Trump’s latest critique.
