(PatriotSpotlight.org) – Former President Donald Trump has sparked yet more controversy with his recent comments demanding that the government treat anti-Israel agitators with the same severity as the individuals involved in the January 6th Capitol breach. Trump criticized the ongoing anti-Israel unrest on college campuses and cities, attributing the issue to left-wing supporters.
Trump expressed his concerns in a public statement, explaining, “It’s Biden’s backers that seem to be funding what’s going on with the Palestinians. Probably not Palestinians, they’re agitators — bad agitators, really bad.” He urged authorities to identify and handle these individuals in a manner akin to the treatment of J6 hostages, referencing the Capitol protesters.
The situation escalated further as the NYPD arrested over two dozen protestors outside the Met Gala, where demonstrations turned chaotic with incidents like flag burning and vandalism. These events mirror larger protests across college campuses, where anti-Israel sentiments have flared up, leading to calls for divestment from Israel amidst ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.
Trump emphasized the gravity of these protests, highlighting the left’s involvement and citing concerns over outside influences and funding sources. anti-Israel activists like the National Students for Justice in Palestine (NSJP) have been present at these protests across a number of U.S. university campuses.
Amidst this chaos, Trump’s own legal battles rumbles on as erstwhile adult film star Stormy Daniels recently testified to a court over her alleged affair with the former-president back in his Democrat days, around 2006. Trump faces serious charges of fraudulent business records, and prosecutors also alleged fraudulent reimbursement activities within his company. Trump denies all allegations of criminality and asserts that the case is a politically motivated “witch hunt”. The trial makes Trump the first ex-President to face criminal charges, and he also faces a slew of civil suits across four different U.S. states.
Responding to Daniels’ testimony and the continuing trial, legal experts have slammed the attention given to salacious information, complaining that they are not relevant to the case. Trump’s attorneys recently pursued a mistrial, although the presiding judge rejected their bid.
