(PatriotSpotlight.org) – The Canadian Prime Minister’s estranged wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, has published a book offering a glimpse into her personal life, marriage, and journey.
The memoir, titled: “Closer Together, Knowing Ourselves, Loving Each Other,” fuses her own anecdotes and self-help advice and refers to her relationship with Justin Trudeau and the pressures of public life. She has long been an advocate of women’s rights and other progressive causes and previously worked as a television host. She was a childhood friend of her husband’s youngest brother, Michel.
The 304-page work was released at the end of April and mentions the Canadian First Lady’s struggles with an eating disorder and her 18-year romance with Trudeau, whom she married in 2015. The couple said their relationship had come to a close in the summer of 2023. The pair are parents to three children, Xavier, 16, Ella-Grace, 15, and Hadrien, 10. They are yet to release any further details about their separation, or if they plan to divorce. It has been alleged that Sophie Grégoire Trudeau is now dating an Ottawa-based doctor.
Grégoire Trudeau also stressed that she had never perceived her marriage as a political one and that she never saw Trudeau “as a prime minister,” but simply as her husband. In the wake of their shock split, Grégoire Trudeau writes that she has focused on a personal self-care journey toward finding balance, despite her public profile. She advised people to “accept their flaws” and said she relied on meditation and yoga.
Her work also emphasizes the role of mental health and the need to ask for support when required. She also noted her favor of a community-oriented approach to childcare in which parents, especially mothers have more help dealing with familial responsibilities from partners, friends, or the community. Her book tour has garnered major attention, with her being compared to a slew of other popular wellness campaigners. She has appeared modest and “giggled off” such claims, stating that everyone has their road to success.
