(PatriotSpotlight.org) – Speaking to his podcast on the Rumble platform, Leftist filmmaker Michael Moore claimed that President Joe Biden’s support for Israel’s war in Gaza could lead to a Donald Trump victory in November’s presidential election.
Moore compared the Democrat President’s situation and the 2016 election in which Trump beat Hillary Clinton in the race for the Oval Office. He stressed the need for Biden to take a firm stance and urge a cease-fire in the ongoing phase of conflict which erupted following the October 7th attack on Southern Israel. Moore claimed the issue could imperil the President’s performance in battleground states such as Michigan. The state has a large Arab-American population, many of whom have participated in anti-Israel demos.
He said that President Biden could “end this now,” and that he knew his current stance was “wrong”. The controversial filmmaker pointed out how the narrow margin by which Clinton failed to win Michigan in 2016, stating that Trump gained the state with a mere 10,000 more votes. The swing state has seen a slew of demonstrations against the Jewish state’s military actions, garnering support from more than 100,000 voters. Moore pointed out the power of young voters, who he thinks largely oppose US support for Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who remains on trial for corruption, has said that military strikes on Gaza will continue until Hamas is fully defeated. Moore slated this approach given the risk of civilian casualties. Moore also pressed for reparations for Gazans and slammed Netanyahu and his Cabinet as hurdles to peace. He called on Biden to prioritize political gain given his uncertain reelection chances, urging him to, “Be a politician for once”.
Pressure on the Biden administration to adjust its approach to Israel has been ongoing since the Hamas-led October 7th attack but has particularly intensified in the wake of the accidental killing of seven aid workers in Gaza earlier this month. Moore has long contributed to anti-Israel commentary.
